Invitation to present paper on read aloud at PTA of Pasti al-Qamariah, KB
Assalamualaikum everyone.
I've taken quite some time to write something on this blog after my last entry. Actually, there are so many activities going on at our library during this school holidays, they kept me busy all the time... except when I have to be with my husband at home.
Okay, today I'd like to write just a short report on an invitation that I've recieved from Pasti al-Qamariah.
On the 3rd of March, I presented a paper entitled, "Reading Aloud: The Most Important 20 Minutes of Your Day" during a PTA meeting of the pre-school. There were more than 30 parents attended the meeting.
Frankly speaking, I think my paper has achieved it purpose, that is to share the important of nurturing the love for reading in our home. On that day, I sold 4 sets of BAWAL reading set. That was really an achievement for me.
Parents're interested to participate and suggested that RAS will be held at the school. Alhamdulillah.
Insya-Allah, RAKB will train more speakers (Kak Ina, Kak An, Kak Je and Kak Wan... next time maybe the floor maybe yours) in the near future.

The Last RAS
Assalamualaikum all,
I'm really sorry for not writing earlier some reports about our last RAS which was held on February 26, 2005. Actually I was kind of waiting for Kak Je or Kak An or Kak Ina to write something... Anyway, from my POV, I can say that our last RAS was quite a fantatic reading session although we've finished early and the kids started to play around the lobby.
Kak An was good with her audience... kids laughing and most of them gave full attention to the stories (look at the picture of the 4 kids).
In full attention!
Parents also feel happy to bring their children to RAS. Most of them kept telling me that they don't have time to read to their kids at home. 24 hours not enough... sometimes I also feel like that.
Aishah also was good and able to make her audience participated in the story that she read; 'The Magic Finger' from a Fairy Tales book. As a first timer she looks like she has some experience. Seems like Kak Wan was right, her daughter really likes being with kids.
Aishah and her group of kids. Kids show your drawing...
RAS round-up:
19 kids
4 parents accompany their kids
They promise to come again next time.
